State Officers

Randy Shepheard,
President
Hello Delaware Business Professionals of America members! My name is Randy Shepheard and I am your 2011-2012 state president. Last year I had the privilege of serving as the 2010-2011 state vice president. I have played football and baseball throughout high school. This is my fourth year in BPA and I have grown to love this organization more than ever before. My favorite thing about BPA is having the opportunity to enhance my leadership skills and be able to motivate others. Each year I strive to better myself and to contribute the best I can to this organization. As a state officer, it is my goal to help the Delaware Association have the most participation in Special Olympics than any other year. Thank you to everyone for giving me the opportunity to serve as your state president this year. I hope to make this year one to remember!

Myranda Hall,
Vice President
My name is Myranda Hall and I am your vice-president of the Delaware Association of Business Professionals of America. BPA has given me skills that I will utilize in my educational and professional endeavors. As a leader, I want to continue to help my community and serve my fellow BPA members. This year I hope to increase participation in our torch awards program as well as our service activities. Every year I look forward to networking with kids at our state and national conferences. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis and spending quality time with my friends and family. Thanks!

Emily Sullivan,
Secretary
Hi, I’m Emily Sullivan, your state secretary. I joined BPA my sophomore year, competing in the spring. I loved attending the conferences, meeting people from all different schools, and competing. I had the privilege of attending the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California and competing at that level. I had fallen in love all aspects of BPA, from community service to competitive events. I knew that I had to get more involved and help to lead at the chapter and state level. I ran for chapter office once I returned from the NLC and served as vice president for a year before becoming president. I ran for state officer because I wanted to make a difference in an organization that had become so important to me at the chapter level. My goal for this year is to make BPA an even more enriching experience for all our members through new resources and service opportunities. In addition to BPA I love reading and writing. Thanks again for electing me to the State Officer Leadership Team!

Alexis Harvey,
Treasurer
My name is Alexis Harvey and I am the Delaware BPA Treasurer. BPA has been a part of my life for almost four years now and I don’t know where I would be without it. I started attending conferences at the state level and made my way up. Last year was my first time at the National Leadership Conference and it was better than expected. Being surrounded by members from different states with different personalities and experiences is what the NLC is all about. Meeting new people is one of the reasons I decided to run for state office in the first place. While being a candidate for a position on the state leadership team was one of the most amazing experiences, it was also extremely nerve wrecking! I was not only the only person that hadn’t been a local officer, but I had to face one of my biggest fears. PUBLIC SPEAKING! My personal goal this year is to accomplish facing my fear and learn how to overcome it. I hope this will set an example for all of the BPA members who also have this in common. For BPA, I would like for every member to BE ACTIVE! Increasing the current and future member activity is my overall goal for this organization. BPA is not the only thing I am interested in. I am also in Spanish Club, FCCLA, and a few AP classes. I also have been involved in soccer, volleyball and cheer-leading throughout my high school career.

Colin Hoveln,
Historian
Hello, my name is Colin Hoveln and I am proud to be serving as the Delaware State Historian! It’s my third year in BPA, and through my experience with BPA I’ve met so many new people and formed new interests that I couldn’t have before! My favorite part of BPA is traveling to nationals and competing with people from around the country! I compete in parliamentary procedure and job interview, and have gone to nationals twice. I served last year as my chapters Historian, and am glad to now be serving as State Historian! I also serve as my chapters President. A major goal our team has been working on is improving the website. So this year we have completely redone the website with help from TSA, and gave it a new look and feel to better benefit you! I enjoy playing lacrosse in my free time, and play as Smyrna High School's goalie. I hope you enjoy this upcoming year in BPA and make it the best possible! Thanks!
